Kylie Scott is one of my favorite authors and I will read anything this woman writes. So, of course, I was so excited when I received an e-ARC of her newest book. I started reading it right away and was in love after the first page.
Edie has her life all figured out. Or so she thought. One night, after being held up in a gas station robbery, she decides that she's fed up with trying to blend in and avoid the bullies. So she decides to make some changes in her life. At her new school, she runs into a very familiar face. John, the guy who saved her life the night of the robbery. The two form an unlikely friendship and as Edie finds herself becoming more wild, John finds himself becoming more tame.
I adore this book so much. I was hooked from the very first page. I loved Edie's character and how she wasn't this confident girl. She was very relatable, especially since I am by no means skinny or gorgeous. I really liked that John and Edie had to work to be friends before even considering taking their relationship further than friends.
I was shocked by how real this book felt. From the very beginning, nothing was roses and butterflies for Edie or John. Even with the robbery and the bullying and her confidence issues, Edie was still so strong. And I loved how the robbery made both John and Edie look at life differently. John decided to get out of his bad habits and to start taking school seriously. And Edie decided to not be so careful because life can end at anytime.
Overall, this is book was just amazing, as are all of Kylie Scott's other books.

WRAP-UP: May/June 2017
This is a (very) late post. I haven't been as active as I want to be on here due to summer working and other family things. However, while I haven't been active on here, I have been reading a ton.
(Also, I've been thinking about setting up a Facebook page for my blog so I can get it out there a little more. I think because I haven't been getting that many views (like six average per post. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DO TAKE TIME OUT THEIR DAY TO READ MY POSTS. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.) I want to give up. But I don't want to give up. So if anyone has any suggestions on how I can get my blog out there a little more, feel free to e-mail me those suggestions (email is on the contact me page). I would appreciate it SO much.)
Here are the books I read in MAY 2017:
I loved all of these books sooooo much and plan on posting reviews on all of them very soon!
Here are the books I read in JUNE 2017:
I also adored all of these books. Overall, 2017 has been an amazing reading year for me. I am pleasantly surprised.

A BOOK REVIEW: Checkmate: This Is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox
After reading the last two books in this series and getting a glimpse at the incredible chemistry between Kayla and Logan, I was SO excited to receive an e-ARC of this book. Thank you so much to the secret duo of authors. Kennedy Fox writes such cute, funny, and steamy romances and I love her books so much. Checkmate: This Is Dangerous was no exception.
To Kayla, and pretty much everyone else in his life, Logan Knight is a mystery. He is a hardworking detective that not only works hard as his job, but to also keep everyone at arms length, including Kayla. Kayla can't deny her feelings for Logan. He's her knight in shining armor;always seems to be around when she needs him. When Kayla discovers the reason he's been pushing her away, she finds herself falling for him even more. Kayla makes it clear she's ready to dive head first into something serious with Logan, but can Logan learn to trust her enough to let her in?
Kayla is probably one of my favorite characters out of every book I've read. It was so easy to connect with her character. She owns three dogs and volunteers at her local shelter in her spare time. She is just an all-around good person and makes me wish I'd make more time in my life to do volunteer work. I was very surprised my the secret Logan discovered about Kayla halfway through the book. It wasn't hinted at all and I felt like it was kind of thrown in there. I wish there had been more a build up to it. Hopefully we'll see in the next book!
My favorite thing about this book, besides Kayla's fur babies and love for donuts, was the slow burning romance between her and Logan. Although Logan has a valid reason for not wanting a relationship, it was cute to watch him realize how attracted he was to Kayla. I like that it took some time for Kayla to crack down Logan's walls. And, after to broke down his walls, I loved how well they fit together. It was just cute and I loved it. The ending threw me off, just like the secret Logan discovered, but I still want my hands on the second book! There are so many questions I need answers to!
Overall, I really really enjoyed this book. I loved Kayla and Logan as separate people and as a couple (#TEAMLAYLA).

A Book Review: The Foxe & The Hound by R.S. Grey
Madeline is twenty-seven and feels totally lost in her life. She is a realtor with no clients and is attending every singles event in town but still going home alone. All this changes when her beast of a dog tramples Dr. Foxe in the park one morning. Dr. Adam Foxe, the new veterinarian in town, is drool-worthy, but closed off. The more the two run into each other, the more they butt heads. Adam's intense mood swings regarding Madeline and a new relationship is explained by his past, but when they push past their differences they discover that it is even harder to resist each other. This is one of five books I've read by R.S. Grey, and I absolutely adored it! I read this book in less than 24 hours. It had me up all night laughing out loud and giggling. I adored Madeline and Adam's relationship. They were adorable butting heads and they were even more adorable when they gave into each other. I also really enjoyed the dog aspect in this book. It was just adorable.
Since I am 5/5 for loving R.S. Grey's book, I cannot wait to read more from her!

I absolutely loved CORRUPT, the first book in this series, and cannot wait to get my hands on the second book!! I also have my review for CORRUPT up on here so go ahead and check that out. It is a little lengthy because I did it as an assignment for my Advanced Composition class (Which I got a 95% on!!).
Since my picture of the cover is small and kind of blurry, I put the summary down below, along with links to pre-order HIDEAWAY.
Coming August 22, 2017!!!!
DEVIL'S NIGHT is returning! Hiding places, chases, and all the games are back...
BANKS
Buried in the shadows of the city, there's a hotel called The Pope. Ailing, empty, and dark-it sits abandoned and surrounded by a forgotten mystery.
But you think it's true, don't you, Kai Mori? The story about the hidden twelfth floor. The mystery of the dark guest who never checked in and never checks out. You think I can help you find that secret hideaway and get to him, don't you?
You and your friends can try to scare me. You can try to push me. Because even though I struggle to hide everything I feel when you look at me-and have ever since I was a girl-I still know that what you seek is so much closer than you'll ever realize.
I will never betray him.
So sit tight.
On Devil's Night, the hunt will be coming to you.
KAI
You have no idea what I seek, Little One. You don't know what I had to become to survive three years in prison for a crime I would gladly commit again.
No one can know what I've turned to.
I want that hotel, I want to find him, and I want this over.
I want my life back.
But the more I'm around you, the more I realize this new me is exactly who I was meant to be.
So come on, kid. Don't chicken out. My house is on the hill. So many ways in, and good luck finding your way out.
I've seen your hideaway. Time to see mine.
*Hideaway is a romantic suspense suitable for ages 18+. While the romance is a stand-alone, the plot is a continuation of events that began in CORRUPT (Devil's Night #1). It is strongly recommended that you have read Corrupt prior to reading this.

Trust by Kylie Scott cover reveal!
I'm a little late on this, but when I saw the cover for Trust by Kylie Scott, I literally screamed. I was addicted to her Stage Dive novels and plan on reading her Dive Bar (Which also has a new book coming out April 2018) series this month! I want more from her!!!
Here's what's behind the cover:
Being young is all about the experiences: the first time you skip school, the first time you fall in love...the first time someone holds a gun to your head.
After being held hostage during a robbery at the local convenience store, seventeen year old Edie finds her attitude about life shattered. Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers. While Edie's beginning to run wild, however, John's just starting to settle down. After years of partying and dealing drugs with his older brother, he's going straight-getting to class on time, and thinking about the future.
An unlikely bond grows between the two as John keeps Edie out of trouble and her broaden her horizons. But when he helps her out with another first-losing her virginity-their friendship gets complicated.
Meanwhile, Edie and John are pulled back into the dangerous world they narrowly escaped. They were lucky to survive the first time, but this time they have more to lose-each other.
This book comes out JULY 18th!! That's not that far away!
It sounds amazing and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
