Kylie Scott is one of my favorite authors and I will read anything this woman writes. So, of course, I was so excited when I received an e-ARC of her newest book. I started reading it right away and was in love after the first page.
Edie has her life all figured out. Or so she thought. One night, after being held up in a gas station robbery, she decides that she's fed up with trying to blend in and avoid the bullies. So she decides to make some changes in her life. At her new school, she runs into a very familiar face. John, the guy who saved her life the night of the robbery. The two form an unlikely friendship and as Edie finds herself becoming more wild, John finds himself becoming more tame.
I adore this book so much. I was hooked from the very first page. I loved Edie's character and how she wasn't this confident girl. She was very relatable, especially since I am by no means skinny or gorgeous. I really liked that John and Edie had to work to be friends before even considering taking their relationship further than friends.
I was shocked by how real this book felt. From the very beginning, nothing was roses and butterflies for Edie or John. Even with the robbery and the bullying and her confidence issues, Edie was still so strong. And I loved how the robbery made both John and Edie look at life differently. John decided to get out of his bad habits and to start taking school seriously. And Edie decided to not be so careful because life can end at anytime.
Overall, this is book was just amazing, as are all of Kylie Scott's other books.

WRAP-UP: May/June 2017
This is a (very) late post. I haven't been as active as I want to be on here due to summer working and other family things. However, while I haven't been active on here, I have been reading a ton.
(Also, I've been thinking about setting up a Facebook page for my blog so I can get it out there a little more. I think because I haven't been getting that many views (like six average per post. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DO TAKE TIME OUT THEIR DAY TO READ MY POSTS. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.) I want to give up. But I don't want to give up. So if anyone has any suggestions on how I can get my blog out there a little more, feel free to e-mail me those suggestions (email is on the contact me page). I would appreciate it SO much.)
Here are the books I read in MAY 2017:
I loved all of these books sooooo much and plan on posting reviews on all of them very soon!
Here are the books I read in JUNE 2017:
I also adored all of these books. Overall, 2017 has been an amazing reading year for me. I am pleasantly surprised.

A BOOK REVIEW: Checkmate: This Is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox
After reading the last two books in this series and getting a glimpse at the incredible chemistry between Kayla and Logan, I was SO excited to receive an e-ARC of this book. Thank you so much to the secret duo of authors. Kennedy Fox writes such cute, funny, and steamy romances and I love her books so much. Checkmate: This Is Dangerous was no exception.
To Kayla, and pretty much everyone else in his life, Logan Knight is a mystery. He is a hardworking detective that not only works hard as his job, but to also keep everyone at arms length, including Kayla. Kayla can't deny her feelings for Logan. He's her knight in shining armor;always seems to be around when she needs him. When Kayla discovers the reason he's been pushing her away, she finds herself falling for him even more. Kayla makes it clear she's ready to dive head first into something serious with Logan, but can Logan learn to trust her enough to let her in?
Kayla is probably one of my favorite characters out of every book I've read. It was so easy to connect with her character. She owns three dogs and volunteers at her local shelter in her spare time. She is just an all-around good person and makes me wish I'd make more time in my life to do volunteer work. I was very surprised my the secret Logan discovered about Kayla halfway through the book. It wasn't hinted at all and I felt like it was kind of thrown in there. I wish there had been more a build up to it. Hopefully we'll see in the next book!
My favorite thing about this book, besides Kayla's fur babies and love for donuts, was the slow burning romance between her and Logan. Although Logan has a valid reason for not wanting a relationship, it was cute to watch him realize how attracted he was to Kayla. I like that it took some time for Kayla to crack down Logan's walls. And, after to broke down his walls, I loved how well they fit together. It was just cute and I loved it. The ending threw me off, just like the secret Logan discovered, but I still want my hands on the second book! There are so many questions I need answers to!
Overall, I really really enjoyed this book. I loved Kayla and Logan as separate people and as a couple (#TEAMLAYLA).
